About us

Who we are

De la Haye Engineering is a family business based in the Scottish Borders.  Originally founded as an engineering business in 1995, we specialised in biomass boiler systems in 2003 and have been building on our expertise ever since.  Currently, our business numbers 4 people:

Reuven, Ruth, Kester and Peter (and Bonnie the dog)

What we do

Our speciality is in designing, specifying, supplying and commissioning biomass boiler systems.  We carry out the mechanical installation of the system ourselves, and advise on and oversee all other aspects of the project.

In the course of our work we deal with 4 main types of biomass systems:

  • Log boilers

  • Wood chip boilers

  • Pellet boilers

  • Self-contained boiler units

You can find out more about the boiler systems we sell and recommend under the 'products' tab.

Over the last 12 years, we have installed and commissioned over 45 boiler systems across Scotland and the North of England, ranging from Thurso to the Isle of Mull, to Millom (Southern Cumbria) and our own boiler system in the Borders.

See our case studies page for detailed information on some of the installations we have worked on.

How we do it

Throughout our working process our main aim is to ensure that our customers end up with a system that is right for them.

No materials are ordered before both parties (us and our customers) are fully satisfied with the system design, and we ensure that the biomass system is working to its full potential before commissioning and handing it over:

Customer satisfaction is a high priority for us, and to this end we have joined the REAL assurance scheme, a consumer protection code which stands for high business standards and best practice in the renewable energy sector.  To see a copy of the code we subscribe to, please click on the REAL logo below.

Once your installation is completed and running, we also offer boiler aftercare in the form of service and maintenance visits, which can be arranged annually, as a one-off, or whenever you think your boiler needs looking at.
